At the
local elections, the Green Party fielded 604 candidates: one quarter of the 2,385 seats up for election. That's 50% more
candidates than at the last comparable elections. While gains were made across the country, Gloucestershire alluded us; however our vote increased and we came second in Stroud East. Carol Kambites, who was the candidate for Stroud East,

Stroud East 2005 - Greens hope to win first county seat
Carol Kambites is the Green candidate for Gloucestershire County Council in Stroud East. Following boundary changes we believe we now have an excellent chance of winning this seat. At the last District Council election for this area (there's five district wards in this one county ward) the Greens easily got the most votes. If people turn out on May 5th and vote the same way we'll have a breakthrough onto Gloucestershire County Council.
